Welcome to Akoni Books ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website at www.akonibooks.com and our personalized children's storybook service (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

Akoni Books provides an AI-powered personalized children's storybook creation service. Users can:

• Upload a photo of their child
• Select a story theme, art style, and other preferences
• Receive a personalized, illustrated storybook as a digital PDF
• Optionally order a printed softcover or hardcover copy

Our service uses artificial intelligence to generate both story text and illustrations. Each book is unique and generated on demand.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use this Service. By using our Service, you represent that you are a parent or legal guardian of any child whose information you provide, and that you have the authority to consent to the collection and use of that information.

3. Pricing and Payment

• Digital PDF: $6.99
• Softcover Print: $24.99 (includes shipping)
• Hardcover Print: $34.99 (includes shipping)

Prices are in US Dollars and may be updated at any time. The price displayed at the time of purchase is the price you will be charged. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

4. Refund Policy

• Digital PDFs: Due to the personalized, AI-generated nature of our products, digital PDF purchases are generally non-refundable. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing your book, please contact us and we will make it right.
• Print orders: If your printed book arrives damaged or with a significant printing defect, we will ship a replacement at no additional cost. Contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos of the issue.
• Generation failures: If the book generation process fails and you are charged, you will receive a full refund.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

All story text and illustrations are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for high quality and appropriate content:

• AI-generated illustrations are artistic interpretations and may not perfectly replicate your child's appearance.
• Story content is generated algorithmically and may vary in style and tone between books.
• We implement content safety filters, but AI outputs can occasionally be unpredictable. If you receive content you find inappropriate, please contact us immediately.
• Generated stories are works of fiction and are not intended to provide educational, medical, or professional advice.

6. Intellectual Property

Your books: You own the personalized storybook created for you. You are free to print, share, and use your book for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may also give copies as gifts.

Our platform: The Akoni Books website, branding, underlying technology, AI models, prompts, and platform design remain the intellectual property of Akoni Books. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of our platform or technology.

User content: By uploading a photo, you grant us a limited, temporary license to use that photo solely for the purpose of generating your personalized book. This license expires when the photo is deleted from our servers (within 24 hours of book completion).

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload photos of anyone without their parent's or guardian's consent
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to exploit, hack, or reverse-engineer the Service
• Use automated tools to access the Service in a way that exceeds reasonable usage
• Resell books generated through the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Akoni Books is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
• Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific book in question.
• We are not responsible for delays or failures in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: AI service outages, payment processor issues, or shipping carrier delays.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Akoni Books, its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

10. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
